Where I've been lately.
As a few of you know, I've been working on "Welcome To The Terrordome," which Kathy Lynn Sliter (a.k.a. The Mighty Lady
) is directing.
What you may not
know is that the dates have changed.
"Welcome to the Terrordome" now opens on March 11th, and not the 4th, as recently reported.
It kinda came down to whether we wanted to kill ourselves and deliver an okay show, or bite the bullet and deliver a great show.
Here's the new poster:
It's basically the same a the old poster, but with the correct dates on it. (It also doesn't have the year 2004
on it--Jesus, I am a dummy.)
(A double-dummy, apparently, since I made the same mistake again and had to change it.)
Other fun Terrordome-related stuff...
There's a scene in the show where Ives (Casey Grimm) looks at Polly's (Molly Vanderlin) driver's license. To avoid a possible disaster (you
try and say "Polly" while reading "Molly"), and because the theater space is small emough that people might actually see it, I made a license for the character:
This show, as you can see, is set in the fictitious suburb of Claymore, where a lot of my stories are set, and have been, pretty much since high school. I've never said what state that Claymore is in (although it's pretty clear that it's somewhere on the East coast), not because I want it to be like Springfield, but for some reason I think that if you say New Jersey, that may color how people walk into the show.
That said, I did put "New Jersey" on the license before smudging it out
Oh, and the Claymore "crest" says "Front Towards Enemy" at the top. That's what's written on the front of a claymore mine, shown below.
Here's a few snaps I took during the rehearsal process.
Here's Casey, Molly, and R. Peter Hunt as Almo:
Here's Amy Sawyers who plays Nyx, helping us out by being on book for us so we can watch the action:
Here's Casey, looking damn creepy as Ives.
(This is the picture that comes up on my phone when he calls me, by the way.)
Another action shot with Molly, Casey, and Peter.
Peter approaching Molly:
Peter, taking a break to watch while Casey and Molly continue their scene.
Remember, we're opening on the 11th.
Oh, and check out RentalRejects.com
--once this show is running, I'll be doing a lot of work for the site, but you should check out the work Russ
has been doing so far, because he's getting it all set up. If the site looks good, it's because of him.
