'Plaint of the Playwright

Wow. The longest entry I've ever posted gets ABSOLUTELY NO RESPONSE WHATSOEVER.

Hmm.

I guess there's something to be said about being short and sweet.

The News:

First off, I have a new job...you're gonna love this...at a video store. Sorry to disappoint you, Potch, but it's not Four Star. It's Video Station. Feel free to stop by and peruse my happenin' Employee Picks shelf.

Second, the rumors are, indeed, true...I am returning to Broom Street as a director in 2005. I'll be doing a show called Sledgehammer Party, and you can click here to get a look at the teaser poster.

Why did I come back? Believe it or not, it was Joel Gersmann's idea. There was an empty slot, and Joel thought it would be a good idea to ask me to come back, at least for now.

Other stuff I've got coming up is a short play in Mercury Players' 10th Anniversary PlayFest at the Bartell Theater. It'll be in the first weekend of shows (Sept. 9th to the 11th), and it's directed by Matt Poulson, another former Broom Streeter.

Also in 2005 is a production of Welcome To The Terrordome, a play that long-term readers of this site may remember the birth of. More on this as it happens, but all I'll say right now is that it's being directed by The Mighty Lady herself, the lovely and talented Kathy Lynn Sliter, who is in no way, I am sure, going to wimp out when it comes to the violence...

...And who could forget Blitz 5? God, I live for this time of year. I'll be writing for this on the second weekend, which is July 17th at the Bartell.

As we say here, be there or be an equilateral quadrangle.

(God, I felt so unclean typing that.)
