'Plaint of the Playwright

[ Monday, February 18, 2002 ]

At my job, I switched from the downtown branch to the west side.

What this basically mean is that there isn't as much breathing down my neck if I try to post.

So I just typed out this long post--which got deleted when I tried to publish it. (Blogger's been acting weird all day.)

Argh.

At any rate, all I said in the post was that I'm finished with the first draft of act one of "Orange Murder Suit."

I gave a copy of it to an actress friend of mine who's interested in doing it. I'm kicking around the idea of pre-casting as early as I can. I've been told that this may cause some friction (because it seems kind of exclusiory).

A while ago, there was a rumor going around that I had already cast the show. I was on page 10 of the script at this point. It pissed some people off.

Me, especially, because if there's gonna be a rumor going around that I've already cast a show, I want to know who I cast, dammit.

So, if I pre-cast, that may be the reaction.

Still deciding.
